Arkansas bow hunting
Anyone out there from Arkansas doing any good yet on one of those nice bucks? It's been so warm and dry it makes it awfully hard just getting to the stand without everything in the woods hearing ya a mile away. I've seen about a half doz does that would have been an easy shot but it's too early in the season to fill the freezer yet. Haven't seen even a forky yet. No sign of scrapes yet although probably start at the next full moon. Anyone doing any bow hunting let me know what you've been seeing or what you've put in the freezer so far..... Have a great hunting season everyone!!!!!....P.S.; One really good thing is at lease them there little no-see-ums are starting to dissapear. Last couple days in my tree lounge I haven't had a single one bother me----amazing!!!!!

I put a doe in the freezer last Sunday. I hunted Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon and never saw a good buck. I saw 3 different spikes, a forked horn, and a small 6 pt. I found about 5 scrapes in a row but they were from a spike and a forky that were running together so I figured they were just terriotorial.

RE: Arkansas bow hunting
I live in the mountains just outside Mena, Arkansas and hunt Polk and Howard county. Starting last night and into this morning it has really been dumping!!! Sheets and sheets of rain. We needed it real bad because of the fire danger. This has been an amazing year for acorns!!! The deer are for sure getting plenty to eat this fall. Next week after the muddy roads clear up a little I'm going to Howard County Wildlife Management Area for a few days of good bow hunting. Anyone been there this year? I'll keep you posted of what I see from my nice comfortable tree lounge perched about 40' up. Have a great hunting season all!!!

RE: Arkansas bow hunting
Just returned from Howard County WMA last night and saw 7 seperate bucks walk under my tree lounge. One 3x3 came in on me head on and wouldn't turn broadside. It's muzzleloader time here and someone popped off a shot (not at, him) and he bounded off so no way of putting an arrow in him for a for sure shot. Each buck that came through had his nose to the ground and followed the buck before them. But no 2 bucks were together. I had does come through and the bucks were uninterested in following any of the does---but I bet it's not too far off!!! This is going to be an amazing bow season this year!!! I wanted to rifle hunt also but with the amount of bucks I'm seeing I doubt I'll be able to keep from busting a couple of them before the rifle season starts..... Good luck this year!!! It's looking really good out there!! And I think this 3 point rule is going to enable us to start getting some real nice bucks here in Arkansas in the next few years to come!!!!
