When did you notice sure signs of the rut, 1st & 2nd? They were definately running the does during the 1st week of MG season, but I am not convinced that the rut was "on" during that period. I still have not seen any evidence of the 2nd rut, I may have missed it. Some say it should be going on now! Any thought on this is appreciated.

just my opinion. I think the first rut , the peak was the 2nd week of gun season.
I took an 8pt with bow the first day of gun season, and he was only checkin scrapes. the 2nd rut, I beleive was around 28 days after the first. I noticed an increase(small) of fresh rubs then. I think it's all over till next november now.
