I have not joined a club yet, I'm not perminately in Florida so it would need to be a great deal for me to join a club. I did drive around devils hammock the day before the start of muzzle loading. I found deer and hog sign so it looks promising, I will need to do more scouting during the off season but it does present a viable option. I will try to focus on these areas during archery season when the pressure is lower.

devils hammock is quota only hunting for deer. Gothe gets fairly packed opening weekend of archery. But after that gothe tends to slow down on people traffic. If you have the ability to hunt during the week I recommend it the area is empty of people.

Had a chance to look around devils hammock last week, saw some decent deer sign and will look at hunting it next year. It is very thick with vegetation which is a new conundrum for me. I am heading back north on Monday so I will be back in cold and the start of the rut...

Goethe has some nice deer but the problem is several have cordoned off areas that they view as their personal leases. Some have 4-5 stands up but can only hunt out of one. Be prepared for confrontations over it. A few of us are trying to get the Commission to set new regulations to ban all flagging, number of stands and put a stop to vehicles driving on roads marked closed to motorized vehicles.

Ok, what is flagging? It's a new term for me. Does sound like a problem with someone putting up numerous stands just to control an area, hopefully you can find a way around or through it.
