Hey y'all! New hunter from The Raleigh area of North Carolina. Never been out before, taking my required safety class in a few weeks before the season opens. Pretty stoked about it. Always had the interest but never the opportunity growing up in NJ with a lot of people who didn't hunt. Down here i've got wayyy to many friends that do hunt, and possible buddies with land who want me to hunt to pass up the opportunity. Plus working at a Gun Shop doesn't help the itch, so i'm jumping in. Going to try deer this fall and then Turkey in the spring when it opens up. Looks like some great resources here and look forward to talking with everyone. In the research and learn everything i can process now so see y'all around the forum!!

Welcome aboard, also from eastern NC. Yeah working in a gun shop in NC can have lifelong lasting side affects that comes with it. Take it you mean gun season coming soon (Oct) if so good luck this season. From what I heard the hunter safety course was overhauled a year or two ago so it is a lot more compact and simpler then before. I wont lie when I took it they could have cut half the things from it that didn't do anyone any good but have fun.
