I'm a new hunter and come up short this year trying to find private land to deer hunt in North GA. Going to start much sooner for next year lining up something...would love to find a club/land that both myself and my 10year old could enjoy.
For now was thinking of trying out the Chattahoochee WMA. I wanted see what type of feedback I could get on my plan.
I'm not crazy about WMA in general b/c to begin with I'm new and although I've been deer hunting before its never been on public land and I've primarily borrowed everything I've used. So far what I've figured out is if I do try it that I'd only hunt on weekdays. I'd have to get way off the road deep into the woods where there is no way I'll run into anyone else and it goes without saying to be out there very early. Only concern is the deeper I go into the brush to setup for the day the farther I have to trek out at the end of the day possibly through the path of the other hunters that are just looking for that bright ORANGE deer to come walking their way.
Any thoughts or advice for a new guy? Thanks in advance!

I have done no research on this as far as Ga. goes, but if Ga. does what Al. does, you should be able to find info on the hunter success on each of Georgia's WMA.
Down this way (AL), there are several ads out there seeking "hunting club members". The trick is finding a good deal on one made up of like minded members.
There are also several websites advertising Al. land that is open for a hunting lease. Got to be the same in Ga. Even a small lease if it is in the right area can be a great place to hunt. This might be a good route to go.
Good l;uck on finding a good place to hunt.
