Public Land Virginia for Fall Turkey
#1
I'm getting a new pup for turkey hunting, and if all goes well, I'm thinking of trying my luck next fall in Virginia. I've heard George Washington forest is a great spot, but not sure if hunting the late season (January) in the mountains is a great idea. Is there even vehicle access once the snow starts getting deep? Any other public land in a flatter part of the state that might be worth looking into? Not looking for anyone's honey-hole, just trying to figure out where to start, you can PM me if you don't want to share this on the WWW. Thanks!

5 months after the OP, but still before the season. I live on the edge of the GW, the snow doesn't get too bad, about once a year we get a foot or so, most times it's only a few inches and gone in a few days. We have a pile of birds too, saw about 4 a day during deer season. Not many folks on my end hunt them during the fall.
