I'm getting a new pup for turkey hunting, and if all goes well, I'm thinking of trying my luck next fall in Virginia. I've heard George Washington forest is a great spot, but not sure if hunting the late season (January) in the mountains is a great idea. Is there even vehicle access once the snow starts getting deep? Any other public land in a flatter part of the state that might be worth looking into?
