Well folks all i can say is if you want to kill deer than just call NEW. He called me at 9:00pm on Monday evening and told me to come to the shore because of the excitement in the woods. Sure enough i killed two deer that day, one being that eight pointer. The day summed up what hunting is all about; friends sharing times and being excited no matter who kills the big one.
Thanks a bunch Nate - you're the man.

Here is the 5 point I arrowed. Not much to him other than his 16 inch spread...I was very happy to take him. 120 pound field dressed at Quantico is a big deer for a 2.5 year old. Got a lot of meat off him today.

Inside Spread is the the longest length you can get at any two points(on the inside of the beams) on both beams. It does not have to be straight across. Just move your tape measure around until you have the greatest length possible. I bet that last deer you got has a bigtime spread. Measure it up and let me know. That was a great buck.
Here is a great thread on how to score a buck...it has helped me a lot:

I hear ya Shadow, my brother is stationed in Germany and missed all of last season being in Iraq so having him home and being able to hunt a few days has been awesome.

My brother and my youngest son.

I like this pic of the different generations. Family, friends, & hunting....that's the good stuff.

Had a nice doe come by at 15 yards today with a buck behind her at sun-up. I picked up my bow and was ready. I never saw the buck because when she bolted downhill, all I heard were twigs snapping and him grunting like heck as he was running after her. Full blown chase.
