Default Oklahoma turkeys..you guys getting any response

Hey folks,
I have been out twice to Lexington this year and I have yet to hear a single gobble. Last year the birds were everywhere out there. We had a bad ice storm during the winter and Im wondering if it killed off quite a few of them. I think they would have survived but I cant find any of the birds. How has everyone elses seasons been going? Im headed out to Black Kettle this coming weekend and hopefully the birds are in full swing out there.

I made it out opening morning. Heard 2 birds but they didn't gobble much at all and they had hens. Managed to see one of them about 10:00 and he was a big boy. I'll get him before it's over.

I just realized that I never did get back with you on that stand. Sorry things have been crazy here. We bought a house down in Noble and we are moving on the first. Thats on top of my 6 month old daughter and I started school again.

The house is in town, I wish it had an acre or two but that sould have been out of our price range. Im so glad we are getting out of Del City. It has gotten really bad lately.

We hunted the north section. When you enter Lexington we parked on the first pull off on the left then walked out to the east. We went out about 2 miles. All we found was a big covey of Quail....scared the heck out of us. Were you in a red pickup, I saw someone parked down by the prison land. Thats why we didnt go down there. We didnt get out till after sun up though, with me working till 11pm its hard getting back up intime to beat the sun.
My new bow is awesome! I havent had much opportinity to shoot it though. I have been having issues with my neighbors dog. It climbed the fence twice trying to get me. I almost shot it both times, but luckily the owner stepped out and called the dog back. Its a big ole St. Bernanrd and Id rather not tangle with it. I called the cops and they ticketed them and I havnt seen the dog out since then, but Im not willing to press my luck. Id hate to have to shoot the dog because its owners are retarded.

I hope the birds are active out at Black Kettle, with this cod weather and wind I dont know how it will all play out. Ill let you know how it goes when we get back. Best of luck out at Lexington

monday the 14th i took my son down to Anadarko for his birthday we got two birds 9" an 91/4"
what did shock me was we seen 18 birds 8 were hens the rest were jakes.Odd that their still
together i know that jakes will follow the hens but that is a lot of birds together for this late in the season most of the time the jakes will break off into groups of 3 to 6 an follow two or three hens.
This kinda tells me that alot of hens are not ready yet meaning we may have a good season right up till the end
