Default Oklahoma Turkeys

Looks like a dandy crop. A good hatch in my area, too. What are you fellow Okies seeing in your preseason scouting?

I havnt had time yet to get out and take a look around. Hopefully this year will be as good as last year. I wonder how all that ice we had affected the population

My timber is devastated by the ice storms and I won't be able to do anything about it until later in the year...so my turkey season is likely down the tubes already...there's so much debris on the ground, the turkeys haven't been using it. Once I get some trails cleared this summer, it'll be some good deer huntingnext fall because it'll be easy to direct them where I want them to go by doing this...looking forward to that at least.

i have seen lots of birds an some small ones to so i think the hatch was good last year with late season birds bred also. i don't know bout u guys but i thought the 07 spring season was a little weird starting somewhat late an seemed to peak fast we still took nice birds just had to work them a little more first weekend. all my buddys are reporting nice birdsin the fields to my 14 year old an i also drew on McAlester this year
USFWC i to have had ice damage to trees but the birds are still coming in they did however change roost sites an some of the ice has moreless helped by taking off some of the small limbs an leaving some nice big ones that will make good roost site later on
good luck
