And another Northern VA rabbit hunt - PICS!!!
#1

Sat. we hunted another real nice farm in Northern VA. We went 5 for 7 which was all right, but the running could have been a little better. Possibly due to doe rabbits coming in heat and not leaving much scent... or my dogs sucking - I'm not sure which, but I like the 1st excuse best
Anyways, check out the bamboo forest behind my son, it was taller than all get out and super thick too. As we walked through it, it reminded me of Vietnam war movies I've seen. We jumped the 3rd rabbit of the day out of a brush pile on the back side of the bamboo.
We had shot 2 rabbits alread and ran 4 and came upon a bunch of blow downs. I told Justin - the dogs will jump them one out of there, well come to find out, they jumped 3 out of 2 blow downs. Not only did we have multiple rabbits going simultaneously, but we had a triple race on our hands. A buddy of mine shot one rabbit after 2 circles so that race was over pretty quick. The dogs that were running that rabbit harked to the dogs that were running rabbit # 2. After another couple circles, he was killed and all that was left was a male of mine soloing the last rabbit. He brought him back to the gun just about the time when the dogs were hiking close to him.
