Guy's this is my first year to hunt Kentucky ..I moved up here from Alabama last year ...I live in western Ky ...does anyone have knowledge of the "2nd rut" up here and when one could expect it to kick in ...also is it a light rut and well defined? Thanks guys and Merry CHRISTmas

usually in my area (Owen Co.) it is during black powed when you see the bucks chasing a few does. It starts tomarrow, but usually bucks start running again maybe late next week.

We are in what alot of people refer to as the post rut. Bucks are still seeking does however, set up near food sources and doe bedding areas. A fine lure to use is VS-1 from Boarder Crossing Labs this stuff realy pulls them in.
