Thanks for the info. I've never tried to kill a hawg with a .22 rimfire before. This should be interesting.

The reason that most of the wma land is going to this is beacause of the state and swfwmd wanting to go to a "near zero" hog population. Due to the mass destruction the hogs are causing to the habitat. I think it could be good for a while but I am kindof iffy about the long term affects for those who truly love to hunt hogs and can only rely on public land to support there passions for it.

You don't use .22's on Hogs, you can use Shotgun with Slugs, Sabots or Double 00....Plus, many hunters use Shotguns on Squirrels.....

A few years ago SWFWMD was allowing a special Hog hunton Green Swamp in May. I went a couple of times and could not take the Humidity & Heat...

This I don't understand?

I am thinking of using a .22 for hogs. I believe if you head shoot them it shoud be fine. In college we use to do a pig roast every year. We would get a live pig and when it came off the trailer we would shoot it with a .22. If looking at the hog straight on you draw a line ear to eye ear to eye. Where it cross shot there. I mean the pigs would drop. If the pigs are turned side ways you should shoot them in the ear.

I know some people that use .22s with sucess. While not ideal it is allowed and I will try it. But I would only head shoot in my opinion anything else is not ethical.

I wish I had a muzzleloader for I would use it for hogs since center fire is not allowed.

Cheers,
Chris
