I have a lease in ballard county KY that butts the river where the ohio and mississippi meet. Just wondered what the hunting is like there. It looks pretty good, but i have only been there when it is like 90 100 degrees. Thanks

It may stay that hot for a while too, but in my opinion, its one of THE best counties in KY to harvest a stud. I'm about 8 miles east of the county line, and do hunt in Ballard co. some. Good luck. (on a side note, it has cooled down considerably over night. It was in the 60's this morning. Less than 24 hours till season opens!)

When Ky started relocating deer to different counties several years ago,to help boost the populations.Ballard cnty was where they got the deer from. If your lease is close to the WMA you have a real good chance for a trophy buck. Also, with all the agriculture and time around that area the potential for a big buck exists thru out the cnty.
