Anyone doing any bowhunting here in Arkansas? I sure don't read much about anyone doing any good this season. I live in the Mena area and would like to know if anyone is still out there trying to double lung any deer.....

No, I've never been there. Is it a pretty good bet for the bowhunter? It looks like you have to get a special signed permit to be able to hunt there. I'm always up for trying new areas to tote my Parker Hunter Mag around to. Have you hunted there before? I'm searching for a good place to get a shot at a couple of nice fat does for the freezer for the winter. these mountain deer up here definitly have thousands of acres to evade a guy in. I'm not much of a horn hunter, can't eat them there horns..... Although I sure would like to get a nice 5x5 in my peepsight!!!! Any info would be appreciated!!! Have a great rest of the season!!!!

I'm down here in DeQueen workin...see lots of sign, but the deer are dug down deep in the brush after rifle season. If there wasn't so much pressure on them, I'd have a ton of places for ya!

I have seen a lot of deer this year and have been successful. I have one of my four tags left (saving for nice buck). My 11 year old son has also had a good year killing his first two deer ever this year.

However, although in or Camp in south Arkansas we have killed some big bucks, I have not been able to be at the right place and time to kill a nice one.

I managed to get a 9 point scored somewhere in the mid 130's.
I hit a limb an let one get away that probably scored in the 120's'. i watched a mid 140's for about 1 hour an ten minutes an never got a shot had him within 25 yds once, never seem him again, yet. I had the best seasonI ever have had for seeing good deer. I hunt in SW ark.

Myself and 2 othershave a lease in south arkansas, of 162 acres. We are trying to pick up more land around us, but not much to be had. I could not bow hunt this season, for medical reasons, but I did manage to put 4 in the freezer during rifle season. One of the others managed a 14 point, a typical 5 x 5 with 2 stickers each side, out there. Here in the south, there is a ton of deer, but finding big daddy is a little more difficult.
