Welcome to the board Hector. I live in Davidson county and hunt down in Montgomery county. I know there is alot of public game lands in Lee and Chatham counties. I've never hunted there but I've heard they have alot of deer. Stop by the local Wal-Mart and ask for a game lands map in the sporting goods department. There are also alot of hunt clubs in that area if you're interested in leasing. I think there is a couple guys on the board from your area. They may be able to give you a little more help.

Guilford county is where I reside, but I hunt in Beaufort, Granville, and Rockingham counties. If you live in Garner, take a look a Camp Butner just north of Durham. It is a National Guard Training Center and you will have to get a permit to hunt it. The permits must be applied for in person at the Range Control building and cost $10. They have lots of deer there and approximately 5,000 acres of huntable land, not all the land is open for hunting though, and there is more that is not open to hunting, than is huntable. Over the past few years there has only been about 250-300 permits issued on average. There is also lots of Game Land adjoining the National Guard land.
