Lots of good outfitters in south texas, not many that wont break the bank. It depends what kind of quality you are looking for. Im assuming you want to hunt free ranging property. Most of the outfitters in texas, even on low fenced property aregonna charge a fee for how much the deer scores. For a true south texas hunt you should look into ranches in the following counties: Maverick, Webb, La Salle, Dimmit, and McMullen being the top 5, with Zavala, Frio, andDuvalclose behind. As to which outiftter to go with I would not know becase my family has a lease in Webb County which we hunt, but do some research on the internet. Hunting in texas is expensive, especially if you are hunting with an outfitter and not on your own ranch or lease.
For a deer scoring.... you should expect to pay....
130 class- $2000
140 class- $3000
150 class- $4000-5000
160 class- $6000-7000
170+ - $8000-?

Thoses prices are about right, but I would have to disagree with your bigger bucks 150 to 180 class deer can get a lot more expensive than what was listed. I agree though you just have to shop around and find a cheaper one..............The good thing about an outfitter is that they do all that researching for you, and make sure everything is right and that you are not getting the run around. My buddy is an outfitter and he has several ranches he does business through every year, so heknows the ranches and the quality of deer that are on them..............Another area to think about would be Mexico, they tend to be a little cheaper, but at the same time I have heard stories about how they show you the deer on one ranch and then when you get there they take you on another ranch with less quality deer. Again, I don't think I would make that decision without the advice of an outfitter.

i know of one comanche county where you can get a management buck around 140" for $2500.
if i remember right, every inch over 150" is $100 or something like that.
my buddy has gone the past two years and gotten two really nice management bucks and says there are more than a few 170"+ deer on that ranch.
also swears he saw a 400" elk this year. and says the elk are only $2500. he has a shot and seen more than a few trophy bucks, so i kinda believe him about the elk.

www.huntingwithjeff.com won't break the bank, and it's a good place; I had a great hog hunt there last year.
