There is about 6 weeks left in deer season. If I start cutting trails now willit affect the travel habits?
6year oldpines, pretty thick. I'll have do it the hard way.
Machette, swing blade, lawn mower and such.
What doyou thin,. Wait till season is over and start?
Or will it be ok.

Hold off till next year. go in there now and start stirring up everything will be real bad for your still hunting ability. If your running dogs and not doing much still hunting go for it.

its ok to cut trails now, just do it without the lawn mower. most grassy stuff will die once you walk through there a few times. I cut my trails the end of september usually. This past saturday, I wanted to clear another trail so as I was doing so, a deer steped into the trail about 10 yards from me, my blackpowder gun was sitting against the tree, so I couldn't get to it in time. The deer seem to love my trails, they use them the day after I cut them. Anyhow all I use is a bush axe, and a big pair of snips (brush cutters or whatever they are called, they cut small trees). I like to to a rake along after I cut the trails and make it a little quieter for me to walk in by getting rid of some of the leaves.

Pearl Jam, I had another friend tell me pretty much the same thing.
They will use it, soon........
I reckon the lawn mower is out till spring, whew...........
I also heard that I had plenty of time and when it rained it should wash my scent and all out. SO what the hey, hey......[8D]might as well get started huh?

FirstBow - I actually went out this evening after I posted this and sat in my new path, had a deer walk right down it before dark, it was pretty exciting, it hasn't rained or anything yet. And also it makes it easier to watch out for snakes and other things you don't want to get into. Good luck!
