Are you seeing any rubs or scrapes yet? I have two clubs in west central Georgia and as of two weeks ago there was only a few rubs on 1600 acres. It seems as though our rut is around end of Nov and again in late Dec. This years might be even later.

Well I'm a novice hunter that started about 2 years ago. I hunt in Jefferson and Warren County. I have only been able to hunt 2 times this year and have seen more deer this year than the other 2 combined.
I went out on a Friday and scouted around and found many many scraps and scrubs. I setup on a trail close to some of the scraps.I didnt use any scents or anything. That next Saturday morning I saw a doe and right behind her was a 6 point chasing her. Didn't shoot due to poor shooting lane. About1.5 hours later I saw ahuge deer in the brush and watched for a few mins.Well I don't mean to highjack the threadso I wontgo into anymore details but he was a nice 7 point, that should have been an 8. His neck was swollen and he was about the hit a scrap right before I shot him. From what some of the other more experienced hunters told me the buck had already been active. Something about some spots on the inside of the back legs.So from all the signs I have seen here in Northeast GA rut might have started for us already.
