Went out whistlepig huntin today for the first time this year
Went out last year but only had a .22 so i was a little underprepared this year i have my Ruger 25-06 and they were scared today.
Got 1 halfway scootin in his hole right through the belly then i moved to a different property along a ditch bank saw one and just shot over him he ran a little and was stupid enough to stop and perch up and i got him right through the neck the next one was about 60 yrds away and was just stickin his head out of the hole and i lined the crosshairs on his chin and got him right between the eyes. after that i walked to the end of the crick and started walking back and saw him standing right up on the ditch bank and hit the bottom of his mound richocheting the bullet right in his stomach killing him immediatly
i guess the 100 gr. remington corelockts work mighty well on these huge ohio hogs [8D]

No I don't. But alot of the folks that live around here do & there are more than happy to take them off my hands. To fatty & grease for my liking. I have had folks tell me if it is fixed right it is not. But no one has brought me one that way. Keeping the good stuff for themselves. All well I'm more than happy to give them to them. Hunt on

Well I just managed to blow 2 chances at groundhogs. Yesterday mourning I looked down from my window while eating to see one hog sitting in the dead center of the field. I grabbed my .243, headed down there and proceded to miss from about 60 yards offhand.
Today I had plans to walk down past the barn and get up on a ridge and hopefully find a few in the fields. Instead right down beside the barn I saw a very niced sized groundhog laying down on a rock, apparently sunbathing. He was downhill about 75 yards, so I quickly sat down, resting my gun on plow, took aim and *TWANG*......First shot hit the electric fence wire dead center and snapped it clean in half....The bullet when on to hit about 3 inches above the groundhog. Wound up spending about 2 hours trying to crimp the stupid fence back together, I never had any idea it could be so hard...
Is it correct when shooting down hill, the bullets will strike high, and vice versa? I didn't hold over or anything, and I forget which way it goes. Anyhow, it's all good, atleast I know where they are...

How did you like the rain. Can't wait for the next 2 days to come. The weather should be great for hog hunting.
Hunt on.
