I have a 6x18 Simmons on mine, but it is because I already had the scope when I bought the rifle. Any good 3x9 would work. The front adjustable objective lets me zoom in on a target with clarity. Zero the .17@100.

I have a 3x9 40 Simmons 8 Point.

It's cheap but was included with the gun and has held up real well.

Like gopher slayer said. i got a CZ American with a Tasco 2.5-10X42mm. works jsut fine for it desired purposes. Gets knocked around quite a bit being a ranch rifle and all, but still shoots as straight as an arrow.

I have a Marlin 17V with a Swift 6x18x44 Premier and love the gun and scope. I have Simmons 44 mag scopes on my other 3 guns and find them to be a good scope also. Go to www.rimfirecentral.com they have a lot of info on the 17hmr and the scopes mounted on them. But like any place you will find people on both sides of the aisle in regards to what is good and bad.

Have fun with your 17hmr it is a hell of a gun
