Hey, me and my best buddy have decided that we want to take up hunting, we live in Wi, out in the country and there is an open season on some rabbits, weasel, skunk and opposom. We live right next to a huge marsh and we have pooled some money together so that we can buy the gear we need. He wants to use a pistol for a number of reasons (I wont go into them here), he is a good shot though and so am I, at least I am with a semi-auto. So finally my question to you guys is what would you recomend for small game, I was looking at the Ruger single six's, ( I have a P-89 9mm and I love it) I was also looking at the Taurus Tracker in the .22 Mag and .22 LR (I have a PT 940 .40 and I love it too). Also was wondering what you guys thought the best bullet would be to use on squirel (Im sure thats much to broad a question for such a complex topic, but I thought it would get things rolling) Any thoughts would be well apreciated.

You have to be 21 to buy a pistol! I wouldnt recommend a pistol to you two, but not because of age. I think with rabbits in the mix your best off with a nice single shot 20 or 12 ga depending on how much recoil bothers you! You can go to wal-mart and get a single shot 20 or 12 for 85$. A box of 100 rounds for 15$. Also its getting late in the year, you better get to a hunters safety class and get liscensed or you wont be able to buy a hunting liscense!

i would get anything in the .17HMR. Why a pistol? you can shoot out to greater distances with a rifle, but of you must have a pistol go for a Taurus. i like the look of em and they shoot good.
