I would get a hunting regulation book , it is given out when you buy a hunting licsens here in ohio Or look up the regulations on the web for ohio you go to ODNR. Or call the DNR .
In ohio it 24/7/365 except for deer season. As for the gun anything you want ,just be safe and check your backstop!

You can go to IDNR's website and get that info. Habitat stamp is needed, and any rifle can be used. Except during shotgun-muzleloader deer season. Their address is

Hope this helps

I second the notion of calling your game department or wildlife officer, most likely it will be included in your hunting regs.
On a side note, there's no closed seaosn on coyotes in Ohio, even during deer gun season. The only exceptions are that the hours are the same as deer gun season, weapons and ammunition must be legal for deer, must posses all valid licenses and stamps for deer gun season, and must comply with hunter orange requirements. In other words, you have to obey all the deer gun season regulations, but you're allowed to shoot a coyote if you want.

In Illiniois its year round no limit on coyotes. Well its is closed during shotgun deer season because you cant have a rifle in the field. As far as what you can shoot them with with any calaber except on state owned property they limit the rifle to .22 cal only. I have also heard there are county regulations on rifles so its best to check with the sherrifs department on that. You need a habitat stamp in Illinois to hunt everything but migratory waterfoul and coots.
