IMO, 25-06 is better for deer than coyote, but is it too much for coyote? Probably not, is there a better caliber for both, that is debateable! Maybe the .243 might be better, that's if you want a debate or not

i kno a 22-250 is just the right medicine for coyote. it might be enough for a deer, a small deer. If you get lucky then itll drop a deer.

Great caliber for both.
Get some 120 gr. for deer
and some 75,85,90 gr. for 'yotes. If you want to keep the hide with as little damage as possible try a FMJ from Barnes. Be careful of what is behind your target as these may continue a long way and or riccochet.
