Default Rabbit hunting bonus...

I had my first pheasant/chukar hunt last friday and things were getting real slow by 4:00. we had been seeing all these rabbits running around and decided not to shoot them since we were bird hunting. finally with 20 mins of light left I just started to shoot these cottontails. my dad joined in and in ten minutes we had shot 12 between the both of us. first time I had rabbit hunted with a shotgun, hack of a lot more fun and it's easier too.

We saw 6 that we didn't shoot, but probably should have shot at, but we saw a total of 50 or 60, while we saw 15-20 chukars and about a million cottontails and 'round 50-60 jackrabbits.

this was all in 5 hrs so it was pretty good.

I remember shooting a rabbit when i was pheasant hunting. It was a pretty good shot i think because it had to be about 35 yards. It ran out of a field i was in and into open ground.

What we really enjoy, and I mean love, is to find a recipe for buffalo wings and make the sauce. Marinate for 1-2 hrs, and grill 'em! They are called "Buffalo Bunnies." My dad came up with the idea 2 weeks ago. great tasting meal.

Nope. we were stupid and didn't get pics. all I can say is that they were small enough to fold up in half and fit in the palm of your hand. sure taste great though... worth gutting and skinning such a tiny critter. shame that their skins were so thin that you couldn't tan the hide.
