I really like my 22-250 loaded with 50g winchester ballistic silvertips. And given the right conditions with minimal wind and a rangefinder i feel comfortable out 375 - 400 yds.

I've gone full circle on fur friendly ammo. I started using soft points for my 22-250, then I tried hollow points, then went to V-max bullets and now I am back to the 50 gr. psp made by winchester. They aren't the fastest bullet and usually will go all the way through, the the exit wound is managable, unlike when the hollow points or the v-max went all the way through, which they did more than I had hoped for, they made a nasty exit every time. Last weekend I hunted with a friend that was using his .243 with some 55 gr. ballistic tips, I don't know how fast he had them going, but he shot 2 coyotes, one with no exit wound at about 55 yards, and the other he about missed at 175 yards, but it hit very low on the chest and ripped it open, not bad, and I would suspect that about any bullet in the same place would've done the same as far as performance. So, I like the 50 gr. psp from my 22-250 and I was impressed with his .243 with hand loaded 55 gr. ballistic tips. I've always like the .223 too, I've got several friends that use it, and it is definatly more fur friendly than my 22-250.
