Post Average size?

Is this guy big or is it just me? I guess I'm just wondering if this is considered average size or what.

The pallet is four feet wide for reference.

Looks like a good sized cat to me. Really good color. I'd be interested to see what it looks like a few months from now all fattened up for winter!

Yes, that looks very big to me, at least compared to all the other's I've seen. Interesting, great picture.

Looks like a good size full mature male to me.

Shoot him this winter when he's all primed out & you'll have yourself a great mount or rug !

The trick now is to get him perforated. Seeing/calling mature bob's around here is pretty difficult. I usually only get 5 or so to come in each season, and out of those, only one will be what I'd call an elder statesman, and the rest will be juveniles/young adults.

If you DO get to hole punch him this winter, but don't want to stuff him for yourself, I'd recommend taking care when you skin it (or deliver it whole) and make sure you have tiny eye and ear holes, as well as a good full tail and clean lips, and skin out the feet and claws. I get more than double price when I sell bobcat hides with the paws and claws intact, especially mature males all primed out.
