2010 Predator Contest?
 

I was wondering if there was any interest in a predator contest. It would be just for fun unless someone wants to donate some prizes. Rules would be simple and anyone could enter. Just wondering if there was any interest. If anyone wants to help out you could email me at [email protected] or you could just post here.

Whats the Rules... I will make a Custom Set of Calls for the Winner... What will we do teams, or Individuals... Most Kills, how long is the Contest... Etc...

Draw up some rules... there might be more interest than you think.

Ok it looks like some people are interested and the custom calls sounds like a sweet deal. I will come up with a set of rules tonite. i will leave it up to you wether or not we do teams. so teams or no teams?

I dont think we enough people for teams right now so i will just set up some rules. Contest starts now and runs till april fools day. So 1/1/10-4/1/10. Different predators are worth different amounts of points.

Opossum-10

If you can think of others let me know and i will add them. Right now we will do individuals. Just post pics of the kill and the weapon used. Identify your points if possible to save my brain for algebra lol. I will Update this post here with the points for everyone. Good luck and happy hunting.

I'd like to try this contest but I'm truely a rookie. Never been out before but gotta start sometime.

Just bought a Fury and a Jack-in-the-Box and when it warms here in Wisconsin, I'm going out for my first hunt. I'll be blowing them with a 30'06 until I pick up my 25-06 at the end of the month.

Getting kind of tired of everyone complaining about the yotes eating all the deer. Gonna try and do something about it as they got to an 8-pointer I shot the evening of the last day of deer gun season and dang yotes found the deer that night.

If everyone is haveing as much trouble getting a kill as i am this will be a terrible contest lol

here's one from last nite...

This female came into the "Magical Sequence" 2/3 of the way through at 1:00 AM. It was frosty at 10 degrees, but the wind was low so it felt nice out.

She raced to the call, through 12 " of snow, and I shot it at approx 75 yds with the fabled Rem 700 in .223

Count me in.

I'm good for a couple. Sign me up

rem 700 in .223

that is a monster coon!

This female came to the last leg of the sequence and I shot it at approx 200 yds. She was headed for some thick brush and I did not want her to wind me so I let her have long distance style!

BHW, you must have allot of fox in your area! i have only seen one red in prob the last 4 years

Can I get in?

lost several chickens to a fox last year, but then no sign for a long time. The other day I heard a lot of commotion outside and saw the fox running into the woods. I made chase but no dice (about 10am).

About 2pm that same day I heard it again and ran outside with my slug gun loaded with 3.5" Remington copper solids from deer season. I don't own a rifle yet, so it was all I had.

I saw the bastard with a hen it is mouth high-tailin it back into the trees. I shot once WAY to hastily and missed, then as she was about to crest a hill and disappear at 80 yards, I "smootched" at her and she stopped and turned..... BEHIND A TREE!

Now I am not here to brag about my marksmanship, in fact I am not that good!:sad: AND all I could see of her was half of her face straight on.

I propped my slug gun on a hedge post and slowly squeezed while holding the cross-hairs between her eyes.

*CRACCKKK*........then she was gone..... figured I missed again like I always miss yotes and foxes!

Walked into the woods to make sure, and as I looked over the hill, there she was.

The bullet went INTO HER MOUTH!!!!!:D

Bet that copper solid didn't taste like chicken!!!!

Now I am shopping for a .243, we have a LOT of yotes out here!

You do NOT want to see the other side of her head!!

PS... the chicken is fine :)
