Default Hello

Hello.

Excuse the lack of knowledge, but I'm new to predator hunting and the upcoming season really wanted to get into hunting coyote and bear. I heard that hunting coyotes was legal all year long, is this true?

Second, I'm used to bow hunting (my country doesn't allow guns unless it's bear) would I need a gun to hunt a coyote?

What are some steps to learn to track them? Would a crossbow be effective?

Thanks.

Takes alot of practice calling those coyotes in close enough to get'em with a bow, but we have done it here in So.Cal.. we have a very large population of them also...
Gun is more effective...
As for bear pretty easy with a bow...but still lots of practice on shot placement and learning the anotomy of a bear...

I do not hunt them my self but i know that people can get them by bow but it might be a bit more tricky the coyote is SMART and will easily spook and a crossbow might work but a coumpound is going to work to and i ohio the seasons for'em is open all year long but u live in Tennessee i do not know if it open all year round there but i would hunt them in the fall or winter when there fur becomes thicker they look better...!

But also shoot target practice as much as you can because you'r going to need it because the coyote is hard to get even with a gun target practics ALOT

I have killed one coyote with a bow and it was just plain luck. I would say that if you really want to have a lot of consistent success you need to use a gun. Now if you have a lot of patience and don't mind going home empty handed a majority of the time then a bow is a lot of fun. Every successful hunt means something but with a bow it just seems a little more special.
