Got a yote to show itself, no shot, how to get them closer?
Here was the senerio. Hunting last night (3/4 moon, 6 degrees). I hit two howls and waited 5 minutes. Hit one more. about 3 minutes later 6-8 yotes sounded off on a wooded point about 400 yards away. I waited about 3 more minutes and did a cottontail call. Some of them (I don't think all) traveled from point A to point B (also wooded) about 250 yards away. One came out to the edge of the field and started yipping, others were howling in the woods behind it, As I put my scope on it, my breath fogged up the scope for 30 seconds. When I could see again, it was back in the woods with the others. I tried a very short cottontail call, followed by two yaps. They shut up and I wasn't able to get them to call or come out again.
Any suggestions? I'd like to get them another 50 yards closer (or more) as my 33mm scope isn't the brightest for this job. Mouse squeeker??

I use the howler as a locator, go out at night find out where they are at. The next morning slip in to you spot. wait about 20 min then use some kind of distress call, I have very good luck with a turkey diaphram call. I put it in my mouth and just squeak on it, say WE. Try and act out the animal being attacked, start out soft because you do not know how close the cyotes are. gradually get louder.
