Default squirrel baits

okay have sucky hunting area we have a bunch of land out back but all the squirrels are across the road behind the neibors house becasue they have bird feeders. i want the squirrels at my house for hunting purposes the neibor is a old word mum whouldnt be proud of me for saying and wont let me have accsess to his property i want bait but not expenive bird seed and stuff and i dont want things that will hurt our cat or dog out back like coons skunks and fishers what should i use for bait..

well anything you put out will attract coons and skunks. your best bet would be corn,keeps everything warm in the winter and they love it. but once you start shooting them its gonna be hard to compete with a bird feeder that they don't get shot at.

also the dog eats everything so should i just spend the money and buy a birdfeeder like the neibors?????

If you put out peanuts you will drag all those squirrels from your neighbors feeders. Peanuts are more expensive than sunflower seeds or other seed but it will really bring them in. I used to feed the birds and squirrels when I lived in the city. The squirrels would not even touch the bird seed if the peanuts were out. You can buy shelled peanuts for bird feeders at your pet stores or grain elevators in 50lb bags.

Try this method every time it just seems to attract them, go deer hunting with a high powered rifle lol, just kidding in my experience squirrels like corn and peanut butter.

just build a little platform off the ground about 4 or 5 feet so the dog cant reach it and put the bait ontop of the platform.
