Default Ruger 10/22 scope help!

I have a factory Ruger 10/22 that I would like to get some "good" optics for. I'll be hunting mostly squirrels and rabbits.

What do you think about this scope?

Also, will this fit on standard 10/22 dovetail mounts?

Depends on how accurate you need to be...the first one got great reviews if you read them. I prefer a traditional scope because the aiming point does not cover so much of my target.

Scope number two of your pick substends to 5 MOA meaning the aiming point you see in the 'scope covers five inches at 100 yds. I need mine much finer than that. For typical hunting you would do with a 22 lr and the gun you have you can do excellent with your first choice.

Scope will fit a standard Weaver style base. No 10/22s have a machined in groove they have a Weaver style base that is screwed to the action. Your answer is yes the scope of choice will fit the common weaver base that comes with a Ruger 10/22.

The first one, or the second one, both look good.
I might get one for me.
Thanks for the heads up.

Hi: thought I would throw in my 2 cents worth. I have been hunting squirrels with a Ruger 10/22 since the 10/22 came out. I used to average about 80 to 100 squirrels a year. My favorite setup that I have always used is a good one inch 4x scope and a weaver style base mount. I am not fond of the grooved dovetail mount because I have had scopes to move forward or backwards in the grooves. The weaver style has cross slots in the mount to prevent this movement. Another thing I do not believe in buying a scope that costs more than my gun. I once bought a used one inch Universal brand scope from a friend for 10.00. The box had a sales sticker on it $ 19.95. I used that cheapo scope for many many years on 22s, up to 30/06 rifles with nary a problem. It never fogged up or caused me any trouble and I sold it finally still mounted on a 10/22. I have owned many of the bargain scopes over the years such as Tasco, Simmons, Bushnell etc. and have never had a problem as yet. I have tried 3xto9x and 4xto12x on the 10/22 but my favorite setup will always be the 4x one inch tube scope. It gets the job done!
