Have a few questions regarding a new scope. I'm going to buy a 22-250 next week and it will only be used as a coyote gun. I want to find a scope but don't want to spend over $400. Any suggestions? I do like mil-dot reticles but do i necessarily need one for coyote hunting? thanks.

You would be hard pressed to get a better scope in 4.5x-14x-40mm or 4x-16x-40mm class. The best scopes for that kind of money are Burris, Bushnell, Nikon, and Weaver. The weaver V16 which is 4x-16x-40mm is about 300$, and tracking/holding zero/adjustability are much better than you would expect for the price. http://www.swfa.com/pc-2329-256-weav...fle-scope.aspx

Just consider any good scope, but you will be smart to get something with variable power. It's nice in low light to be able to turn power down to gather more light.
