I agree with the thunderbolts, dont go there. You can use either.22 or 12ga. Ive shot more yotes with a .22 than anything else because I see them all the time while small game hunting. SHoot them in the head if yopu have a shot. I have a semi auto tho and even the few Ive shot in the chest ive managed to get three or four shots in before they knew what hit them. Thats the beauty of having no recoil. Just be a proficient shooter and youll be ok

Head shots and .22lr works fine. I killed a mess of them in Alabama when I lived there. I always used Remington high velocity ammo.

Usually I don't like remington ammo, but on coyotes it seemed to work pretty good. I used a bolt action Stevens 22.

When I was shooting at them with a gun, I never had one walk away from my .223, nowadays I try to get them in close enough for bow shots.

Who cares if they run off and dies from a 22? You can't eat them and their hides are only worth 5$ skinned this year.Your going to have to dispose of them anyways. Let the vultures and crows feed on them.

I do, and I don't know where you're located, but I'm betting that I will get about $20. per coyote again this winter, and that is w/o skinning them.

The coyote is a vital critter to mother nature, and deserves more respect than suffering at the hands of manwith poor shot and poor caliber choices! Just because YOU dont' like them doesn't mean you should wound one and not attempt to finish the job!! That's a pathetic way of thinking on any hunted game, weather it be a dove, coyote, turkey, elk, etc.

It's pretty sad when someone advocates suffering of animals-that's EXACTLY what the anti-hunters love to see/hear to give them added ammo to use against us! You should be ashamed to even think that-let alone post it.

It's a good things our judicial system doesn't think the same way when "just another thug" is shot to death in the back alley of any given city.
