RE: guns and yotes
When I was younger, I tried killing a dog with a CO2 powered pellet gun. Even after mulitple shots to the head from point blank range, the dog lived.
Get a .22lr. Better chance with it and they can be bought cheap.

Sure, it would kill a coyote IF YOU HIT IT JUST RIGHT, at very close range..
On the same note, a BB gun would kill a pheasant IF YOU HIT IT JUST RIGHT , at very close range..
The same aforementioned pellet gun might kill a burglar IF YOU HIT HIM JUST RIGHT, at very close range..
Does that make a pellet gun anadequate tool for coyote hunting, or for home protection against burglars..??..
I don't think so.... If you want to shoot squirrels, it's fine.. If you want to shoot anything bigger, get a .22 rimfire or something larger... For coyotes, I'd consider a .22 rimfire mag. minimum, and a .22 centerfire would be much better..

If you can get a centerfire rifle you will do a lot better,a 1200fps air rifle will cost you as much as a 22caliber rifle.Just look around for a used gun and if you look hard you will find one that fits your budget and your hunting, any centerfire can be used to kill a coyote. At a gun show would be a good place to pick up one cheap, just check it out and make sure it has a good looking bore and functions before you buy it.I bought a savage 110 in 243 caliber to trade with last year for $150,just look around and you can find a deal.

The best option is a .22 cal centerfire. However, a shotgun or a rimfire will work if that's what you've got. A pellet gun just isn't a usable option. You'd have virtually no chance of making a clean kill, regardless of distance.
