Rabbit hunting
#1
I started rabbit hunting last year and really like it..however im not exactly sure what type of shot to use...I currently use 6 shot..do you think i should be using something else? I know a buddy of mine uses 8 shot but to me that just sounds like the spread of the bb's would be too large......What do you use?

I use 6 or 7 1/2's depending on how tight the cover. The 6's will get through the thick stuff better and reach out a little farther, but even the 8's will kill a bunny, their skin is paperthin and soft unlike a squirrel that can be pretty tough sometimes.

I wouldnt use 8 shot unless i thought there was an equally good chance of jumping quail or maybe if i was hunting entirely in incredible thick brush. Low brass 6's has always been my favorite small game shell in terms of versatility.
