I pulled a bonehead move this evening......Called in a triple, didn't take my AR15 along.....I was going to give it some action and decided to stick with the ol 243. The triple stopped broadside at 150 yards so I decided it was time to nail one of 'em, missed....Then when they took off my 2nd shot connected with a hind leg, coyote started doing the "death spin" only it wasn't the death spin. I took my eyes off him figuring he was dead and emptied my last 2 shots at the other fleeing coyotes, then when I was out of bullets I seen the coyote I wounded running off. [:@]So a big fat ZERO for me today

You guys dont want to hear this... Im going to catch a load of crap for this... but here goes...

with the move and everything been real busy so dont think I fell off the face of the earth... I got outyesterday morning for a quick stand. called a bit, and seen a coyote just slowly working my way about a quarter mile out... Not like he really had any hunger or anything but he was coming... gave him some more calling and I just couldnt get him fired up for anything... but he still kept coming... Like he wasnt worried about when, or how fast but he was gonna get there some day like.... he finally got to about 85 yards... and just slowly worked into a good shot... It was raining here and we had just broke that subarctic weather we had... Now pictue this.... Broad side... 85 yrds... he shakes the water off, kinda like a big ol shepard playing in the summer rain... Im watching this all through my scope... I think about the 50 points..... My thoughts go to my kids, my wife.... back to the coyote... to the Christmas season... Then to the fact that fur prices arent all that well, back to the joy of just knowing that I beat him, If I wanted to I can, kill him... then to that he just made it through the cold weather, and the struggles he must have put up with... ........ ........ ........ ........ Then I let him walk away... to see another day... To enjoy the sunny side of a warm hay bale...

Holy crap... I think My heart is goign to puugh....

SOrry I let the team down... I had a moment... I cant say it wont happen again... but, I guess thats when you know your OK in life...

Sorry guys... But I expect I got a good tail beating coming..

Dang Pure, sounds like your inner self was tellin' you that you should've been spending Christmas eve. with the family. Nothing wrong with having a BIG 'ol soft heart sometimes, and as long as our team is in the lead, I have no problem with it!!
