yodeldog, yeah it is far back, but the thng has NO eye relief, its either set it far back or lean way forward. i havent hit my eye yet, doesnt seem like i will the things so heavy it doesnt go anywhere when it fires

ilyotehunter, im shootin remington umc 50gr jacketed hollow points, theyre cheap, and good enough, once i get the cash im gonna reload so i can get a good round, and i havent shot it at anything farther than 150 yet, but its pushin 4 shots in a dime at that range. ive been waiting for a chance to shoot longer ranges but i cant find anything farhter than 200 tops.

Well with the trigger, and the eye relife and the overall feel of the gun, it's what you're use to and comfortable with ,that makes you a good shot in a hunting sit. Thats whats important, IMHO. Good luck with the set up, hope it works for ya. I have the .204 in ruger, I love the gun, and have killed alot of dogs with it the last two years. I use the 40 grn. rapid ex. vmax bullet,,4025fps. work well.

AH, i just got the same rifle but in 243 caliber and without the nite spotlight. got mine for hunting groundhogs. at 100 yds. mine will put 3 shots that a dime will cover. trigger is pretty good. could be a little lighter. havent worked up a load for it yet but what i loaded for my old 243 seems to be what the rifle likes. i put a leupold 4x12x40 on mine. good luck with your new rifle.
