Default Predator Shotguns

I have a issue about what gun to use on coyote and fox.
I have three shotguns that are legal, but i don't know which to use and with what size shot.

1. Remington 12 ga.870 super mag. (3 1/2 inch shells)
2. mossberg 12 ga.600 AT
3. remington 20 ga. rifled slug gun

I would use smaller buck shot out of which ever gun shot it best,I dont think I would try it out of a rifled barrel,it might be OK I dont know never heard of it,You might check your state regs. about buckshot some states dont allow it.one of your smoothbores should shot it good get some posterboards from the store and pattern them, you should be able to shoot upto around 60 yards and have enough pellets hit the vitals to kill'em,good luck!!

I would use the 12ga. with #4 buck shot or Coyote Heavy shot load. This is my opinion.

for fox, i shoot a 3" copper plated or hevi shot #4 turkey load.

for yotes i shoot #4 lead buckshot(different from #4 turkey or game loads..it will say #4 buck on the box and a 3" shel has 41 pellets)

you COULD shoot #4 buckshot at fox...but if you hit a fox good with alot of the buckshot pellets, its gunna be ugly.

i absolutely clobbered a red this year in the head with a 3" mag of copper plated #4 turkey load..seriously 20+ pellets fell out of the head when we skinned it...plus the ones that pentrated and didnt call out..but...the interesting thing was the hide was in real good shape...there werent any big holes or tears or anything of that nature...but my buddy hit that same fox with 2 #4 buckshot pellets and it put decint sized holes in it..

Hey halfrack, I have the rem. 12g. mag that takes the 3.5 in. with a mod. choke. I shoot the 3.5 in. dead coyote loads. It"s" T" shot, I have never missed a coyote with it. You can take one out to 60 yards, no problem. Some states do have laws on buck shot so ck it out. What ever you decide on do pattern the gun, as all guns shoot differnt loads differnt." If you do go with the dead coyote,,, dig deep, they don"t give them away. I think they are worth it . About 2 bucks a peice.
