Default mange

Just got back home this morning, shot a mangey female. She had a male (I think) with her. shot her first, the male went about 400 yds. out. I coxed him back to about 300yds. but never got a shot at him. The female had no hiar on her tail and alot gone on her shoulders. She must have been breading couse her neck, and ears were all tore up. Stunk to high heaven, as usual. All howels and yips no distress at all.40grn. hornady 204 stricks again.

[/align]Congrats Yodeldog. I read an article the other day that said you should hunt the mangey yotes with food calls because they need more fuel to keep warm in the winter. No coat = no heat. No heat= a need to burn more fuel for warmth.

That makes sence I spose, just like the whole bringin them in to there own voice. Don"t really like not being able to tan them out but a dead dog is a dead dog.

congrats man,I havn't ever seen one with the mange around here, thank goodness,I have seen pictures of them man they are ugly.Me and my daughter saw a fox with the mange last summer while I was strapping down my boat in the parking lot at the boat ramp,it was looking for food in the trash in the middle of the day in July,I wonder if he got sunburned I did!!! He paid little attention to us,until I drove with in 50yards of him and started wistleing at him then he just walked off into the woods, several other fisherman had seen him also,I found out after telling them about it,one guy had pictures, the only hair was at the very end of it's tail,I dont think the mange is as widespread down south as it is in the north and west but we have a lot less coyotes also.TO BAD YOU COULDN'T SKIN IT that would be nasty.Maybe thenext one will have hair and we will see some pictures.
