Shot Placement on Fox
Hey Guys,
I appreciate all the advice and conversation in my other post here. I have an awesome property to hunt varmints on with gratitude and excitement from the land owner and I can't wait for tomorrow. I am shooting great 5 shot groups of under 1/2" this morning. My question is the shot placement on foxes. Should I shoot head shots, which I am comfortable and confident doing? Or should I stick to the shot through the vitals? I intend to skin out and tan the hides.

RE: Shot Placement on Fox
dont much matter...their head is about as big as their vitals...with a broadside shot, you honestly got 4-5 inches of vertical body....the rest of em is just fur. i couldnt believe it till i skinned my first one monday...tiny little critters...
hitting the bone of the head is sure to make more of a mess unless your shooting a 22lr or 22mag...probably better to stick with vitals with anything else...
