squirrel hunting in freezing weather?
i was wondering if the squirrels are active when it is freezing out?
it will be 3 degreees tomorrow without wind chill and i was wondering if it would be a bad idea to hunt? would i see any squirrels?

3 degrees? That's a really shallow angle, are all of the squirrels on the ground. You can't possibly be talking about temperature, here it's 75 and sunny. I'm headed out for an afternoon deer hunt in my camo shorts and a tee shirt[8D]

Its 19 outside right now and thats at 3:44 pm in southren Indiana lol I like hunting tree rats but I'll pass today lol. Most critters around here are like people when it gets cold they want to bed down.

I saw a cat-size fox squirrel adding leaves to his nest this morning. It was 6 degrees. Usually they don't move unless it is 20-25 and sunny. He must have decided he needed more insulation. My daughter and I got a kick out of watching him. Can't figure out why he is using a leaf nest this time of year...usually they are in den trees by now.
