Default Whats For Dinner? Pic

I took this on my last trip out bowhunting. I will be tanning the pelt myself and using the pelt to make a Indian Ceremonial Pipe Cover for my brother. I got home and told the Hubby come and see what I got with my bow, so I hold up the critter by the tail and the Hubby replies with a big silly grin " Look What You Got For Dinner" I told him there aint nothin like Hill Billy HuntingI know were going to laugh about this for years to come

That's just TOO cool Lady'! You should have given him the skinned carcass and told him he could cook dinner. They're not too bad on the table.

I was wondering, what's your favorite recipe for opposum? And, about how many people will one feed? And last but not least, do they taste like chicken?

Well Trushot-Archer has the right Idea, Feed them all year long with a generous helping of BBQ sauce on the feed to marinate them.
I vote for throwing some Garlic and Jack Daniels in with the BBQ sauce, and wa la, Pickled Possum.
Now how do you fillet one of these things?????

He was around 15 yards from the base of my tree.Arrow entrance was perfect, just behind the shoulder and arrow exit was in the oppisite side armpit of the possum. I will post a photo of the pipe cover when it is complete.

Did you ever notice how accurate your bow shots are on critters that you aren't actually after. You always seem to nail the rabbits, coons, opossums, and ground hogs, but when it comes time to draw back on a big buck, your arrow flies everywhere but the kill zone. Congratulations on the shot, and for God's sake please don't eat that thing, I've seen what they will eat. When I was a kid, when fur prices were good I used to intentinally trap these critters, and you done even want to know what my super secret bait consisted of. I will tell you that it had an odor that would draw an opossum from a long way off.
