I'm not gonna get into another arguement about black panthers being
caught on camera or seen in the south/north.

I can tell you that link is very good, but it says that there are no
records/documents of black panthers being seen in North America. FALSE.
They're have been several seen in arizona and in the rockies. Plus there's
that black bobcat picture.
First, a melanisticbobcat is not a "black panther." There have been a few documented sightings of jaguars in Arizona. But, melanistic jaguars? Several of them? I tend doubt it. Normal jaguars sighted North of the Rio Grande are extremely rare. Melanistic jaguars are extremely rare. So, the chance of a melanistic jaguar North of the border would be extremely extremely rare.

The only relatively common "big" cat in North America is the cougar (a/k/a mountain lion, puma, catamount, Florida Panther) and I don't think there's ever been a documented case of a melanistic cougar.
