Default Most effective shot location on Coyote?

Greetings:

I want to try my luck with some Coyote hunting this weekend (newbie) in western Oregon with my 22-250 and was wondering what is the ideal or most effective shot location on Coyote to drop it where it stands?

Also any particular factory ammunition that is recommended and why?

Later...

I usually shoot them in the front shoulders and they don't go anywhere with my 22-250 . Its a bit rough on hides but I'm not after the pelts anyway .Remington ammo works good and is reaonable if your shooting factory 55gr PSP .Good Luck on your hunt. BTW Welcome to the board

Most effective to drop'em in the tracks would be a head shot, but that would be a dumb thing to do. Just go for behind the shoulder, it'll get the job done, and a lot of them will still dop in their tracks.

I like the frontal chest shot, coyote facing me, this will drop 'em in thier tracks and keeps my bullet from making two holes, but other wise, the boiler room at or just behind the shoulder does fine.I also shoot the 22-250.

Man!!! So this means my 130 gr 270. bullet will be a little too ruff on them <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

The only thing i have ever shot with a 22-250 was a deer. I dropped it in its tracks. But the only reason why is because the bullet exploded inside of it. I shot it in the neck. That is the only expirenece i have with a 22-250. Sorry
