Default Yote way to close!

I was hunting Ft Carson for yotes. I was kinda warm and wasn't seeing much besides mule deer, and turkey's no yotes though. I decided I was going to check out a spot I shot two 3 weeks ago. As I crossed over a hill. I saw a yote 300 yds away walking through the grass. I couldn't get a shot because the distance and the grass. I set upand called. Nothing for 15 min. Then I howled on my electronic call and something darted behind me 10 ft away behind a bush. I turned my .204 to the bush and waited for 10 min. Nothing. I think it was a yote. I hope it was, because we have cougars out here. Just when I thought it was over something big ran away from the next hill over. Not sure what it was so I took off.

Yeah it wasn't funny at the time, but now it's knida funny because I was freakin. I still don't know what it was, but my uncle thinks it's a bobcat and the big critter that ran away was a elk or a mule deer that happened to be there. Any thoughts?

I'm guessing it was a Sasquatch. They come to coyote calls like no other.......

Why didn't you take the 300 yard shot? That's nothing, and you say you're in the US Army...?

So what are you suggesting here? I certainly hope it`s not sound shooting.

If you read my story I said I could'nt tell what it was because of the grass, but I thought it might have been a yote. So I didn't shoot. Theres lots of cats, and fox out here which are closed. Better safe then sorry, and yes you saw I was in the Army. Heh you wanna come out and shoot at the range. Your welcome to BRING IT! HOOAH!

But for real they have a lot of different critters out here. Didn't want to get busted.
