Default Exit wounds and bullet choice

Howdy folks.

Wanted some opinions on bullets.

For coyotes I use a CZ 527 Varmint in .223 This last saturday I shot this coyote witha 50gr ballistic tip

It was looking at me sitting at an angle, the bullet went in the chest just left of center at about 50 yards.

I should have shot him in the head but I didnt think about that till I saw the exit hole. Any suggestions to what bullet might not make such a mess.

BTW I shoot the 50 gr ballistic tip because I found it to be the most accurate for my gun.

I know the 55 gr FMJ might be a viable option but I got a 1:12 twist and the 50 gr shoots better.

Just try to avoid the shoulder blade and that bullet will work well for you. No matter what bullets you shoot, they will all make a mess if you hit a big bone.

The B-Tip is supposed to explode, try Sierra 52 or 53grain matchking, or hornady 52-52 a-max and match.

I never had any problems with Hornady v-max, or the 52 gr. BTHP match.
