Does a fleshing knife have to be sharp? I ordered one online and when it came, it wasnt sharp at all.

yupp. Well usually when I order knives out of a catalog or somethin, they're not very sharp, except for my elk ridge skinner, but anyway, just grab your wet-stone, some WD-40, and put an edge on it
