Marlin 60 ... but if you want to make it a lot more fun, try using adult airguns. Capable of much better accuracy than rimfires, but in most cases you need to get closer and place shots more carefully. Don't get me wrong, most have enough energy to still kill at 100 yds.

I use a Winchester M69A .22lr that I got for Christmas in 1962, when I was 12...It currently is wearing an old El Paso Weaver K 8 scope, but I have a Leupold M8 4X that I plan to put on it...
I also use a stock early 70s vintage Ruger 10/22 with a Williams Fire Dot front bead and a Williams rear peep sight...My old eyes can't focus on regular open sights anymore, but a peep still seems to work fine for me..
I am also LUSTING for a CZ 452 in .17 HMR..A buddy of mine has one with an el cheapo 3x9 scope..I've borrowed it a couple of times and it is a real tack driver..

Favorite: CZ 452 American wearing a Leopold 3-9x33 EFR.
I also recently got a Beeman R9 in .20cal, topped it with a Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40 AO. I'm thinking that might make it in the woods at least a time or two this year as well.

I have a browning BLR .22 long rifle lever action.
With a tasco 3X9X40mm scope on it.
But the gun I use the most is a Taurus Tracker .22 cal long rifle revolver.
I get more of a chalange out of squirrel hunting
with a handgun.
I like to get as close as I can and pop the little buggers
out with the Taurus Tracker .22cal .
When I get a squirrel with it I know I have done something.
Or my Ruger Goverment Mark2 semiauto .22 cal pistol.
But mostly the Taurus Tracker.

well i too have a marlin model 60 with a 3x9x40 scope on it, but i prefer to use my Marlin Model 783 .22 Mag. it has a 3x9x40 tasco scope on it with a 13 round tube feed. im shootin cci maxi mag 40 grain bullets and this puts it to them. I can kill a squirrel from 80-90+ yards as long as i have a solid rest.
