Default overchoking

i don't know about anyone else but when i'm hunting with my shotgun i miss a lot. i think most of the problem is overchoking. a regular cylinder bore with no choke at 20 yards is just as deadly as a full choke at 40yds. the author who brought this to my attention had no choke and came out to have a 25 inch pattern at 20 yards. maybe i ought to try no choke for shooting squirrels and rabbits this season. wat do u think

I'm the opositt, I'm worried that a modiffied choke puts out too wide of a spreed for ducks so I'm thinking about useing a full but I don't know?

O I forgot, I think u should just experiment to see what is the best for your shot gun but I use a moddified for rabitts and squirrels.

Full for geese and ducks.
IM for hunting the river for woodies.
IC for rabbits and etc.

What are you hunting that you are missing at?

I gotta say, doves, quail, and rabbits are some of the hardest critters to hit out there...so everyone misses them, dont beat yourself up...

I personally like a tight choke for squirrels, that way I can take head shots and not ruin any of the little meat on the critter...but then again, my go-to gun for everything is fixed full...

My 2 cents - Good Luck

I shoot 'em standing stilleverytime I can...but I can still kill em on the run about 90% of the time...

My 2 cents

Improved cylinder or Improved Mod sounds bout right for what your doing. I wouldn't suggest shooting your shotgun with no choke installed.

thanx guys. full choke for running squirrels doesn't sound good for me. ruins the meat if u don't hit it right[:'(]. especially a close range running squirrel.[:@]i wouldn't use a full for ducks, too small of birds and if ur close range and you shoot that thing its not really worth it in my opinion because ther goes ur meat. maybe geese but not ducks.
